Guest Instructors: TBD
Location: Hudson, New York
Dates: Friday, September 13 - Monday, September 16
Tuition: Free
Limited to 15 participants (Invitation only)
In this three-and-a-half day workshop, participants will learn the tools and techniques of oral history and consider together the many possible uses for oral history in our Hudson area communities: family/ history, community organizing, creating counter-narratives, intergenerational relationship-building and envisioning collective futures.
This free workshop includes hands-on tech training, interactive exercises, conversation, listening parties and shared meals. No experience necessary.
All participants will be paid an honorarium in recognition of their contributions of lived experience to this community conversation, which is critical to our collaborative learning. While oral history takes on many challenging subjects, the workshop will also proceed in the spirit of celebration for this chance to be together.
Meals from area restaurants/farms will be shared throughout the workshop.
This workshop is made possible by funding from The Spark of Hudson, in partnership with the Eutopia Foundation.
