November 20 & 21, 2021
Saturday: 9 am - 5 pm, Sunday: 9 am - 5 pm
Format: Online, via zoom
This mini-intensive is based on our popular foundational workshop ––covering oral history theory, methods and practice––but is designed more specifically to support training among colleagues and collaborators who wish to directly apply the training during the workshop, and to establish networks among organizations approaching common questions. This workshop is well-suited for groups pursuing:
Ethical practices for community documentation
Oral history collection, documentary, podcasts and/or multimedia exhibits
Narrative projects driven by motives of organizing, advocacy, reconciliation, intergenerational dialogue and/or the creation of persuasive media
New approaches to listening/communication
This workshop will make dynamic use of mini-presentations, group discussion, interactive exercises and technical training to deliver sessions on ethics, memory, recording strategies, archives, project design, experimental outcomes and more. All are welcome; no experience necessary. Questions? Contact us at info@oralhistorysummerschool.com
