This hands-on workshop––open to all––is based on our popular 10-day intensive, covering oral history theory, method and practice. Over the course of the weekend, we'll address interview techniques, recording tutorials, ethics, memory, trauma, annotation and experimental outcomes. Come all ye documentarians, journalists, artists, media-makers, educators and those looking to learn new things in good company! No experience necessary.
Tuition covers Instruction, OHSS tote bag, OHSS e-reader and other resources, Friday night pizza, plus access to alumni newsletter/network, and use of OHSS recording equipment during workshop.

COST
Tuition is based on a sliding scale, with a limited number of discounted tuition spots. Early registration is encouraged. Institutional/Supporter-level tuition supports participation of individuals who are unable to cover the full cost of the workshop.
Discounted Tuition - $350
I am a student, teacher or full-time caregiver; I have a fixed or limited income and would not be able to attend this workshop without paying the lower rate.
Standard Tuition - $400
I am employed full-time and/or have other access to resources; tuition is not a significant barrier to me attending this workshop.
Institutional Tuition/Supporter -$500
My organization, university, or employer is paying for my tuition; funds are not an obstacle for me to attend this training; I want to support OHSS and am able to pay a higher price for the workshop.
